A different way to code server side ActionScript

I just came across this today. It is a way to use haXe to code your server side ActionScript. I've used haXe before and am a big fan of it for its multi-platform capabilities. I haven't used this version yet but based on everything I know about haXe it should make coding simpler.

RE: Live Event BroadCast

alright lets get into more details.
As you said looks like VOD.
Lets say, there is some sports(FIFA/Olympic/etc) event is going on and i have got the copyright for broadcasting live to my site. As you said VOD, so steps would be like this correct me if i am wrong.
1. I will receive live stream, with live camera.
2. I will record that stream to my FMS server > vod folder.
3. Now as i got files to play in FMS so, i will play(Stream.play('live.flv')) that file in server. So that it should act like watching live.
4. In order to make smooth flow i have to make small files(.flv) after every 10mins. As well as switch stream for newly created file in server.

Please correct me if this is the way of doing live stream broadcast.
This is all my question

Not sure, looked like VOD to me.

Live broadcasting isn't anything new for the basics. If you describe a bit better on what you want to do rather than have people guess and search around, then you might get a bit more help.

I think maybe your question is confusing. I'm not sure how to answer it myself as I have never bought a live broadcast from a TV station. If they provide you with what you need, what question are you asking? FMS or Wowza can do live streaming if you are hoping to do that, but other than that, I don't understand what it is exactly that you need.

Wowza Media Server application development

We need to develop a application using Wowza Media Server.
Fell free to ping me via e-mail: zloba00@gmail.com or post an replay here.

We need to develop reliable application for managing DVR video streams.

Management - through the CLI (command line interface) WEB (as described on the site).

The following parameters for the application:

1. Application name
2. Stream-name
3. DST application name (default - § 1).
4. Record-name
5. start | stop
5.1. duration (the recording time, need to check how the duration works)

So, we would like to get a recorded stream system with the pre-defined names folders. Upon archives creation, the server will be notified about structure folders (such separation is necessary for flexibility in managing records and the possibility of building an archive based on current dates).
We need to be able to handle or at least diagnose problems is important.

You should have good knowledge of Wowza Media Server and strong Java skills are a must.

I also need to know that the overall sequence can be recorded :-)

RE: Updates and information about the site (a blog of sorts)

Since the last update of a few weeks back there have been some new additions to both content and functionality. First up are three new articles:

Streaming videos to iOS devices from Flash Media Server 4.5
http://www.fmsguru.com/showarticle.cfm?articleID=49

Where's a great place to start learning about Flash Media Server development?
http://www.fmsguru.com/showarticle.cfm?articleID=48

Getting the user's GEO Location with Wowza Media Server
http://www.fmsguru.com/showarticle.cfm?articleID=47

There are both more tutorials and articles on the way. On the functionality side, we have improved the ability to find tutorials that you might want to check out based on what you are watching at the time. On each tutorial page we have now listed some related tutorials that may answer your questions on your current topic. If you scroll down past the video then you'll see the list.

We have many more updates to the site coming including a complete redesign which I know I'm very excited about. So stay tuned!

As always, thanks for visiting!

Flash Media Server 4.5 Released

An update to Flash Media Server has been released, version 4.5 is available now to download from Adobe?s site. Check that out here.

To quote Adobe?s site: Adobe® Flash® Media Server 4.5 software now delivers media to multiple platforms ? including Apple iOS devices ? with a choice of powerful protocols that can save significant bandwidth costs and lighten network load. Encode once and deliver across platforms with on-demand media packaging. Deliver exceptional media experiences with protected delivery and real-time encryption for your high-quality content.

Yup, you see it there, delivery to iOS devices. Not late to the game at all ;) Just like this post?

For even more in depth info, go to Kevin Towes? blog and check out his outline of what?s new and all that.

*** Quick update ***
Unfortunately the Adobe web team is a bit slow to update the site and only v4 can be downloaded, contrary to Kevin?s post that it can be downloaded now. Wait until he wakes up in the morning to that information! Anyways, I?ll post back when it?s available.

RE: Updates and information about the site (a blog of sorts)

A few updates here on the site. First up are the two newest tutorials still talking about security and Flash Media Server:

Tutorial #53: Flash Media Server Security : Using the client Agent and Referrer to help protect your server
http://www.fmsguru.com/showtutorial.cfm?tutorialID=57

Tutorial #54: Flash Media Server Security : Taking advantage of the Application.xml file settings to help protect your server
http://www.fmsguru.com/showtutorial.cfm?tutorialID=58

With that, I do plan on getting more tutorials in the future about security with FMS, I think it's important to also cover security with Wowza Media Server. Of course I have a whole list of ideas for tutorials that I just have to find the time to get on with.. not just dry security of course.

Anyways, thanks for visiting as always and stay tuned for more updates shortly!
